Ms. Vargaz is a 5th grade teacher at Rosemont Ave. Elementary School and has participated in the Paramount Animation education programs since they began in 2018. Ms. Vargaz dives into these often technologically-complex projects with great hope for the learning her students will experience thanks to the new skills she picked up in our workshop. Last year, during the early months of virtual learning brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Vargaz led her students to explore their emotions and create new “multidimensional villains” which they presented to artists who worked on the latest SpongeBob movie. The community she fostered in her Zoom classroom within weeks and the warmth she extended to the Paramount staff was remarkable and is a testament to her unrivaled spirit and goodness. Ms. Vargaz is one of the best in the business. Her commitment to excellence is vividly seen through the extra work she does outside of school to support the learning and personal development of all she serves.
Ms. Vargaz on this year’s SpongeBob program:
"On Sunday, February 28, 2021 my 5th grade students had the wonderful opportunity to attend "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" drive-through and drive -in screening! Paramount Studios gave my students to wonderful opportunity to see in the drive-through the amazing characters, setting and creative design seen in the movie. By giving my students the opportunity to learn how artists design characters in a movie to evoke emotions in a viewer, it has inspired my students to see themselves as future storytellers, animators, set designers and content creators!"
