GIF Animations

This unit focuses on the field of animation. Students become animators and create compelling characters by combining expressive lines with realistic gestures. Considering unity to create the continuity between frames, animators create the illusion of movement in a 3-5 frame GIF.

Learning Objectives

Students will explore the expressive possibilities of line and apply their knowledge to add emotion and movement to their artwork.
Students will sketch a ritual using a variety of space and adding expressive lines
Students will animate an important gesture in the ritual by creating a GIF
